Triumph Sprint GT Video

Rainy day, so I'm digging up more Sprint GT goodies...

Motorcyclist Review of the Sprint GT

Interesting writeup of the Sprint GT in the September issue of Motorcyclist magazine:

With the disappearance of Ducati's STs and the increasing popularity of bigger, bulkier sport-tourers like the BMW K1300GT, Kawasaki Concours14 and Yamaha FJR1300, the Sprint GT is essentially in a class of one. It's slimmer, sleeker and sportier than any of the above, yet still capable of knocking out an Iron Butt if the mood strikes. And there's no denying that it's an incredible value. At just $13,199 including ABS, hard bags, a centerstand and other usually optional equipment that would add thousands to already-more-expensive bikes, Triumph's Sprint GT is Bond's bike at a bricklayer's price.

Triumph Sprint GT Unveiling Event

We will be participating in Triumph's world-wide unveiling of the new Sprint GT on Friday, October 8th and having demo rides the next day Saturday, October 9th.

This new model has some incredible touring features that can be most appreciated through first-hand riding experience. Therefore Triumph is linking the unveiling of this bike worldwide to demo rides the next day. Customers will be able to make their first impression of this new motorcycle from the open road.

Five years after Triumph introduced the popular 1,050 cubic-centimeter Sprint ST sports touring bike, the British marque has introduced a new model with greater practicality and more emphasis on the 'touring' aspect of 'sports touring': the Triumph Sprint GT.

As you would expect from a British machine wearing the famous Grand Tourer tag, the Sprint GT delivers outstanding real world performance in a practical and stylish package. But this should not be construed that the Sprint GT has lost the sporting edge that made the Sprint ST one of the most popular and enduring bikes in the Triumph range.

Of course, practicality is the GT's hallmark. The bike also features new 31 liter panniers, standard ABS brakes, a 200-mile fuel range, an optional top box that is capable of accommodating two full-sized helmets, and a 12 volt power supply that allows 'on the go' charging of electrical items such as laptops and mobile phones.

The result is a motorcycle with a different feel to the Sprint ST, biased more towards the 'touring' side of sports touring than the Sprint ST's 'sports' - a composed machine with precise and intuitive handling to keep up with sports bikes on demanding roads, but equally delivering the comfort required for a long two-up ride cross-country.

The 2011 Sprint GT is a culmination of ongoing customer feedback about what they want in a touring machine, including:

  • 130bhp / 80ft. lb. version of Triumph’s iconic 1050cc triple
  • A new exhaust system that lowers the center of gravity
  • Anti-lock braking system as standard
  • 31 liter hard bags and an optional top box capable of accommodating two full sized helmets and offering a 12 volt power supply.
  • Under seat storage and built in rack with a well appointed grab rail
  • 5.28 US Gallon fuel tank allowing 200 miles between fill-ups
  • At $13,199 (USD) MSRP, the Sprint GT offers real-world performance at a price other sport tourers can’t come close to.

Priced at $13,199, the Sprint GT will be available in US dealerships this fall as early release 2011 models.
